Due to lack of interest by its author, this site will die on August 29, 2008. Wish I could say it’s been fun, but it’s more of a chore. It was fun at first, but. . . it’s not you. It’s me.
I am a PhD student in an English program in the U.S. Midwest/Great Plains area. I have an MFA from a now-defunct school that used to be on Long Island, NY. I have a BA from an old Wisconsin state school. One lucky thing about all of this is that I have the option of doing a creative dissertation. I’m taking that option. This blog is about the writing that I’m doing for that PhD.
I’m almost done with course work and I am getting rather worried about my publishing record. Save for some obscure newsletters, it’s just about null. So as I polish pieces off (although they’re never done), I’m frantically sending them out, trying to publish them, so I can have some kind of future. I mean, there are postdocs, but I want kids eventually. This blog is also about my submission records, failures and (fingers crossed) successes.
Oh, I’m recently married. I would like a cat. Or a chinchilla. Chinchillas are cute. Sometimes, this blog is about life.
